Bill Log (V1.1) is a macro for Microsoft Word (V6.0) which allows a Word user to maintain logs of charges or payments for services, time, or products from within Word. Logs created by Bill Log are Word tables, easily incorporated into letters or reports. These Logs maintain a summary (total) of charges and payments and are easily exported to spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel for further analysis.
Bill Log can create billing logs for specific periods of time, say a week's transactions, or can create logs for specific clients. Both the services/products and client name lists can be edited so that frequent entries are easily available for logging.
Note: V1.1 corrects a problem with hidden and white fonts obscuring the Name and Date fields of the table and adds file closing and saving options.
To install, decompress archive into an empty directory and run INSTALL.EXE.
Once the installation is complete (all Bill Log files in a specific directory), open BILL_LOG.DOT in Microsoft Word and click where specified to customize Microsoft Word so that Bill Log is available by a key-combination or mouse-click, whenever you are using Microsoft Word. Then start Bill Log (click on the Piggy Bank, type "Alt+B", or choose Bill Log under the Microsoft Word "Tools" menu). Choose the "File Services" option to create new logs, specify the current log, and specify the path where all the Bill Log files will reside.
